Install from the live session

Install

  1. Start the installer from the dock of the live session.
  2. Choose the disk. It will be erased. No network is needed: the installer installs the indiga image carried by the ISO.
  3. The installer asks for neither an account nor a root password: GNOME Initial Setup creates your account at the first boot.
  4. At the end, shut the machine down, remove the ISO, and restart from the disk.

At the end of the installation, the machine is set to follow the signed indiga image. If that switch fails, the installation fails, rather than leaving a machine that verifies nothing without saying so.

After the first boot

  • The Flatpak applications arrive with the first network connection: they are not copied from the ISO.
  • The installer and the session still show Fedora.
  • Secure Boot can stay enabled: the kernel is Fedora's, signed by Fedora.

Next: check the image and its signature.
